DPTS Awarded $96.3M Air Force Medical Services Contract

Maintaining Quality Patient Care for Service Men and Women

Quantico, VA- May 1, 2007 - DP Technology Services, Inc. (DPTS), a business and technology solutions provider, announced today that it was awarded a five-year U.S. Air Force medical support services contract valued at up to $96.3M. Under this U.S. Air Force contract, DPTS will provide medical administration, appointment services, billing support, Medical Administration & Support, referral management, medical transcription and training support for nationwide Military Treatment Facilities.

 

This contract was designed by the U.S. Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) to provide timely and accurate medical administrative support for Air Staff, Major Command and Military Treatment Facility authorities. For the first time, these services will be provided under a single centralized contract. DPTS will assist the U.S. Air Force in supporting 63 nationwide Military Treatment Facilities with medical support services to enable the providers to focus on providing quality patient care.

 

DPTS President and CEO, Ms. Darla Portillo, stated, “The contract is to provide specialized medical support services to impact the overall inpatient and outpatient treatment process for America’s war fighters and their families. Under this centralized contract, DPTS will assist in standardizing and improving medical support processes to allow physicians and other providers to spend less time on administration and focus on providing quality patient care.”

 

As the Department of Defense (DoD) and the AFMS have established new Directives in association with medical health information over the last several years, the need for centralized and standardized assistance in supporting these new policies has grown. Under this contract, DPTS will work with the U.S. Air Force to improve both inpatient and outpatient services such as medical appointment scheduling and records management, medical coding, auditing and training processes, data quality, regulatory and privacy compliance, medical transcription services, and third party collections for reimbursement.

Our goal is to continue our current relationship with the U.S. Air Force, its Commands and Military Treatment Facilities and help ensure timeliness, coding compliance, and accuracy of medical data in the Military Health System.
